Due to the current heat wave, the City of Peekskill will be activating its cooling center policy starting Thursday, August 1, 2024 through Friday, August 2, 2024 we will continue to monitor. The Neighborhood Center dining room will be open from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm today and from 12:00pm -6:00pm on Friday, August 1, 2024 with free WiFi for anyone seeking an air-conditioned environment. The library will be open during normal hours, and the City Office of Emergency Management will be checking that the senior apartment building managers are also taking appropriate measures.
